The foundation that everybody has been talking about ... the latest launch from Charlotte Tilbury, the newest Beautiful Skin Foundation.
I for one was very keen to know if it did indeed match up to its name. I admit I have a bit of a tug of war relationship with Charlotte Tilbury bases because some I adore and others not so much. I kind of fall out of love with them and then later return to rekindle that flame. I have reviewed all of them which I will link to later in this post, but I have to say (spoiler alert) this newbie really is impressive.

This is a brand new buildable, hydrating, medium coverage foundation designed to give you healthier, plumper looking skin. Packaging/Shade Range
As I said before it hasn't always been love at first try in the past when it comes to Charlotte Tilbury foundations and for me, Light Wonder has always been my favourite. The description of this one being a medium, buildable, hydrating, glowing foundation reeled me in because this is my ideal. I liked the fact that the shade range was expansive with a range of tones to work with all skin tones, undertones and skin types. The easy-to-use packaging is perfect and even has an engravable lid for that extra bougie touch. There is a handy shade matcher on the Charlotte Tilbury website here: Foundation Finder!
I did go into my local Sephora to swatch the shades before buying but had a rough idea what I would be, and I was right. I usually go between shades 3 and 4 in her other foundations and I found that shade 3N was my perfect match with the option of 4N maybe being a summer shade.
For reference, I wear shade B20 in all Chanel bases, shade 4 in Armani LS, shade 2N in Dior Natural Nude and 200N in Byterry.

As you can see below, 3N is very close to shade 3 in Charlottes Light Wonder foundation and Shade 4N in the Airbrush Flawless ... the shades I wear.

The Results
Application/Wear
Having a normal skin type, I love a buildable coverage and I prefer a light coverage when it comes to foundation but there are times when I might need to up the ante a little. One full pump will give a nice medium/light perfected skin look and a second pump will give you that solid medium coverage that does not look heavy just super perfected and radiant. I applied this without any glowy primers because I wanted to see the full effect of the foundation alone. If you want an even sheerer coverage you could even mix it into a moisturiser or prep the skin with a really dewy, hydrating primer to give a light finish.
The gel-cream texture is super lightweight, feels weightless on the skin, blends like a dream and instantly gives you dewy, healthy-looking skin. I love that it is non-drying and keeps your skin feeling hydrated for the whole time you are wearing it. I do feel it will be a good one to help cover redness and light pigmentation.
I photographed my skin (below) in natural daylight with no filters whatsoever as you can see the power of this foundation. It really does give you beautiful skin and for sure evens out and minimises fine lines. It was only looking back at these pictures that made me realise just how gorgeous this foundation is. I have used all Charlotte Tilbury products in the images below and have applied concealer, a light powdering just in the t-zone, bronzer, highlighter blush wand ... as well as the foundation on the complexion.
It gives a beautiful hydrated glow to the skin that can be tailor-made to how you want to wear it. As regards to wear time this lasted an entire day and still looked perfect when I went to remove it. For a foundation that is designed to be hydrating and glowy, this is truly impressive. It didn't feel heavy, it didn't feel oily, it didn't feel dry ... just the perfect finish. I really feel that this foundation works for all seasons too.

Verdict
In my opinion, I think this is the best Foundation that we have seen from Charlotte Tilbury. My favourite has always been Light Wonder and I feel this is the next step up from that one in terms of coverage and skincare benefits. Both are beautiful foundations but this one seems to have more perfecting qualities yet still looks very natural with being a medium coverage. This is that foundation that gives you skin like a filter in real life; it is just perfection!
This is definitely for those that like a light/medium coverage and a base that will hydrate, perfect and add a glow to the skin. This is not for matte/full coverage lovers. I think it's very ideal for mature skins thanks to the plumping & hydrating skin benefits. Oily skins can definitely wear this one too, just with a good setting powder underneath.
I won't lie, I wasn't expecting this to be as good as it is and it's nice to be excited by a Tilbury launch again as it's been a while! In fact, this is not just a favourite in terms of Charlotte's range, but a favourite in terms of my favourite all-time foundations. I truly do love it. My one and only critic is that it seems to be going down quite fast so not sure how long a tube lasts, but I will definitely be purchasing a backup!
I give it an A-Star, 10/10 rating and recommend that you try this one if you are debating it.
