Now as I stated in my original post all about coconut oil uses, you can of course use a normal jar of coconut oil for this task but for those times when you are travelling or you just like 'simple' then having it all prepped in one handy sachet can be a good solution to keeping your teeth and gums the best that they can be. I did feature another popular brand sometime ago here on my blog but I have come across a new brand that I really like and personally think is one of the nicest, called Mintycoco. An all natural, organic, coconut oil pulling mouthwash.

Mintycoco is an all natural detox designed to eliminate stains from your teeth and get rid of bad bacteria for healthier teeth and gums. They have a unique Vitalock system to extract the coconut oil from organically grown sri Lankan coconuts, creating the worlds most advanced formula that has a soft peppermint flavour for added freshness. Coconut alone can be quite bitter so adding the peppermint oil makes it a lot more enjoyable to use! The coconut oil is 100% raw, alkaline, extra virgin cold pressed. Mintycoco work with dental and medical health professionals to provide solutions to clients and patients gum health and also support children in Sri Lanka to escape extreme poverty, giving them the gift or good dental hygiene, paying teachers, providing meals and funding sustainable gardening and farming. A company I think you can agree has very good morals!
Inside one Mintycoco box, you receive 14 x 10ml sachets - one to be used daily so two weeks worth of product. It really is a simple system to follow as you literally just empty the contents directly in to your mouth and swish it all around for 5-15 minutes then spit it out and brush your teeth. It really is that simple. If you were using a jar of coconut oil then you would do the same using around a teaspoon of coconut oil. If the oil has hardened then simply warm the sachet in between your hands or in some warm water until its liquified.

I love this method of teeth whitening and I do it for 15 minutes each time over a month period (x2 boxes worth) then have a few months break and just continue when I feel I need to. Each persons results shall be different depending on how badly your teeth are discoloured to begin with and how much tea, coffee, red wine etc you drink as they are obviously notorious for staining your teeth and I am a big tea fan.
Below are my before and after pics after just two weeks of oil pulling with Mintycoco. My teeth were not too bad to start with but you can notice that my staining is definitely visibly reduced, especially at the sides. After two weeks I think this pretty incredible.

The difference between Mintycoco and other sachet brands that I have tried is quite obvious as this one tastes so much nicer as it is more natural tasting as opposed to synthetic. The quality of the coconut oil that Mintycoco use is shown in the results. I do my oil pulling before I go to sleep so that my teeth and gums are not then being 'disturbed' to gain maximum benefits from the product. The coconut oil helps to lift plague so when you then brush your teeth afterwards you get a much better result as opposed to just brushing alone. My mouth and gums always feel super clean afterwards as the oil manages to get into each and every corner of your mouth to give it a thorough clean.
If you too are a tea/coffee lover then this method really helps to lift those stains that drinking them causes so you can have the best of both worlds! The main reason I love this system is because you get no sensitivity what so ever as I have very sensitive teeth and I have used much stronger systems from my dentist in the past which have been incredible but I hated the sensitivity that I got, so I find that if I oil pull at regular intervals I can keep my teeth looking white with less hassle and no bad side effects. It's important to keep your gums healthy too so I find this ticks all the boxes.
